Janelle Marie Jacobs

July 14, 1960 — February 12, 2022

Janelle Marie Jacobs was born on July 14, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio to Hattie Jacobs (deceased) and Fletcher Jacobs Sr. (103). She was the youngest girl of seven children: four of which have transitioned on to a state of tranquility: Valerie Young (deceased), Beverly Williams (deceased) Fletcher Jacobs Jr (deceased) Dwight Franklin (deceased).

Janelle attended Jane Adams High School where she learned to home in on her artistic skills. She loved the arts, drawing and writing poetry and songs were just a few of her skills. She was also very talented at sewing. She designed and made her own wedding dress. She was a gifted soul and gifted the kindness of her heart to everyone she encountered, especially, around the Christmas holiday.

She allowed her extremely thoughtful and warm spirit to put a lot of thought into making sure every loved one received the perfect gift, and of course the most thoughtful gifts were for her grandchildren, for whom she loved and cherished deeply.

Janelle greatly enjoyed the company of her grandchildren; watching them playfully romp through the house gave her joy and comfort. She strived to give them as much of her time as she possibly could and supply them with all the love she had to give.

Janelle Marie Jacobs peacefully parted this world on Saturday, February 12, 2022. She is survived by her father Fletcher Jacobs Sr. (103), her baby brother Gregory Jacobs, her older sister Lela Clay (Rodney Clay), brother-in-law Walter Williams, her son and daughter Antoine Gay and Danielle Gay, her four grandchildren, Shayonna McClain, Antonaesha McClain, Nakiyah McClain and Journey McClain, and a host of nieces and nephews.
