James Hadnott Anderson

James Hadnott Anderson was born June 7, 1964, and was the 11th child born to the late Eula Mae Edgerson Anderson and the late Herbert Eugene Anderson Sr. As a child, James grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Cleveland Public Schools. He graduated from Max Hayes Vocational High School, where he studied Autobody Repair.

James loved to tell jokes and being around his family. He enjoyed playing basketball, pool, cards, cutting hair and cooking. He later met and married the former Dionna Hill, and they were married on February 17, 1988. To this union, three daughters were born, Oneika Cherelle, Shaneika Chere', and Taneika Chantel. They also raised another child, Adaeya Bates. As a family, James enjoyed walking through the park with his family, going on movie dates, taking his daughters to amusement parks, and being a loving husband and father. His kids could always talk to him about anything. His daughters fondly remember his infectious laughter and gentleness as a dad. At one point, he studied at the Kingdom Hall. After his divorce, James met Diane Bowling, his significant other, who he spent the rest of his life with, until she passed away two years ago. He loved her dearly.

James worked for years at Kirkwood Industries as a Welder until the company closed. He was last employed at Morgan Laundry, until he was diagnosed with Cancer. James was a hard-working man who supported and provided for his family. During the last several years of his life, he suffered from COPD. He passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. His spirit will always remain close with those who loved him.

James was preceded in death by seven siblings, George Belcher, Leroy Anderson, Herbert Anderson Jr, Arlene Seay, Eula Jean Walker, Tina Saunders, and Doreen Anderson.

James leaves cherished memories with three daughters, Oneika, Shaneika, and Taneika; five grand-daughters, Anyiah, Treasure, Amani, Alyona, and Namazzi, all of Cleveland, Ohio; three brothers, Robert Belcher, Charles (Leslie) Anderson, and Sammy Anderson, all of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Denise Anderson, Cleveland, Ohio; aunt, Elizabeth Anderson; uncle, Ivy Jordan, both of Cleveland, Ohio; his ex-wife, Dionna Anderson, with whom he remained close; his best friend of many years, Delmar Goldsby; as well as many more nieces, nephews, and friends.
