Idris Atiba Harris was born on September 5, 1976, in Columbus, Ohio. At 13 weeks old Idris was gifted by God to Valerie and Matthew Harris. Idris was at the beginning of what would be a rewarding journey.
In 1980, Valerie and Idris returned home to Cleveland, Ohio. Shortly after their relocation, John Weakley Sr. walked into their lives and by the time Idris reached adulthood they were the best of friends and cooking buddies.
In 1987, John and Valerie were married and along with Idris raised his three siblings who he loved and cared for deeply. Idris' developmental years were challenging but paved the path for many beautiful souls to enter his life and those beautiful souls became a part of who he was.
Idris attended and graduated from John Adams High School in 1993. He furthered his education by attending Job Corp. in 1996 majoring in Carpentry. Idris was always very good with his hands and enjoyed taking things apart and putting them together. Idris also took on a strong passion for music. From old school R&B to Rap, Idris could sing and rap with the best of them and loved to perform for his family and friends. Idris also shared a LOVE for cooking with his father, and he was excellent at it! His favorite thing to do was cooking for his family and friends no matter what the occasion, it brought him so much joy. Idris was able to share his gift and love for cooking with the city of Cleveland working in restaurants like Southside Grill in Tremont, and in the kitchens of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland State University. Idris hung up the apron in his professional life to be of service to his community working for the Salvation Army and lastly at FrontLine Services.
Idris was simply amazing and had endless talent and compassion. We can't forget his ability to make us all laugh until it hurts. Idris will be missed by all that were ever blessed enough to be in his presence.
Idris leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents John and Valerie Weakley, his siblings, Kimberly Woods (Kacey) and John Weakly Jr. (JJ), his loving fiancé Yvonne Alexander and his cute furbaby Sandy as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He joins his grandmother Vivian Woods and sister Jessica Weakley in glory.
