Ida Mae (Washington) Withers was born on June 21, 1934, in West Memphis, Arkansas. As a young girl, she attended West Memphis City Schools. While a teenager, she attended Wonder High School where she enjoyed and loved participating in fashion show events!
Ida Mae accepted Christ at the young age of 13 years old at her church, Beautiful Zion Baptist Church. She was baptized and sang in the choir as a child and young adult.
Ida Mae married Walter Withers Jr. on March 19, 1955. Five children were born from this union, Ronnie, Annette, Dan, Deborah, and Shahidah.
After moving to Cleveland, Ohio, Ida Mae joined the former Concord Baptist Church. She was a very faithful, reliable member and part of the firm foundation of the church's Missionary Board. As a member of the Missionary Board, she visited the sick and shut-in at the nursing home and honored various birthdays.
Ida Mae departed this life on July 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Withers Jr; father, George Washington; mother, Viola Taylor Washington; brother, George Washington Jr; and grandson, Danny M. Withers.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories five children, Ronnie (Sharon) Withers, Annette (Terrance), Dan Withers, Deborah (Rashad) Saleem, and Shahidah Rasheed; Son Nu-Nu and bonus daughter, Helen Black; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
