Harold Jesse Partee was born to Frank Lincoln Partee and Rosa Nell (Oliver) Partee in Cleveland, Ohio on November 12, 1931. He was the third child born of this union. His parents and three other siblings, Charles L. Partee, June R. Partee-Gentry, and Franklin L. Partee, have preceded him in death. Harold accepted Jesus as Lord and joined East Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age, where he was baptized into the faith. Harold completed his education through the Cleveland Public School System and graduated from East Technical High School in 1950. In April of 1951, Harold welcomed a daughter, Marsha E. Partee. He worked at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company after graduating high school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 where he served two years. Upon his return from the U.S. Army, Harold returned to the Illuminating Company and remained employed there until 1957. During this time, he had a brief career in Real Estate with his father-in-law. Upon leaving the Illuminating Company, he started his career with the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in 1991 after 37 years of service. He first met the love of his life, Marjorie, "Peaches," in junior high school. They started dating in 1950 and were married on June 9, 1956. Their first child preceded them in death in 1957. Out of their union, two other daughters were born. He was an avid fisherman and proudly stated that his wife was his "fishing buddy." Harold and Peaches loved to travel, camp, and fish across the United States. They made many friends during their travels together. Harold loved to provide for his family. He became employed with the American Red Cross in 1999. He enjoyed working there because it enabled him to drive to different places in the area where he made many friends. He proudly retired in 2010. Harold was ordained to the Deacon Board of East Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the early 1970's. He faithfully served as Chairman of the Deacon Board from 2000 - 2005. Harold joined, and served on, many committees at East Mt. Zion including, Life Line, until his illness. Harold heard his Lord and Savior call his name early Sunday morning January 1, 2017 at 12:48 am. When Jesus calls - you are to answer - and that is what Harold did, he answered and stepped into eternity. AND SO SHALL HE EVER BE WITH THE LORD!! Harold's precious life is survived, cherished, and celebrated by his devoted wife Marjorie (Peaches), loving daughters Marsha Partee, Deborah Partee, and Carolyn (Terri) Brown. Six grandchildren: Jonathan Partee, Nyerere Partee, Kristina (Paul) Hardwick, Tiffany (Damine) Thorpe, and Jessica L. Brown. A host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. And many, many special friends.
