Gwendolyn Presley Andrews

February 6, 1949 — May 22, 2013

Gwendolyn Presley Andrews was born on February 6, 1949 in Cleveland Ohio to Everett and Rose Presley (deceased). Gwen had 3 sisters Geraldine Smith (deceased), Phyllis Stokes and Barbara Presley. Gwen graduated from Glenville High School met and fell in love with Raymond Thomas Andrews (deceased). At age of 19 they married 20 days after her 20th birthday. They loved to travel and finally settled in Dallas, Texas. They wanted to have a family but after six miscarriages the Lord blessed Raymond and Gwen with their precious daughter Regina Evelyn Andrews Hawkins (deceased). They were extremely happy after Regina's birth. Sadly several years later Raymond passed away. A couple of years later she became the owner and director of a day care center for many years. She returned to Cleveland Ohio in 1989 to be close to her family and ailing mother. At the age of 50 she decided to change careers so she went to Tri C Community College and to Sawyer Business College where she made the Deans List taking classes to become a Medical Assitant. She then changed career paths to become a home Health Care Aid in private duty. One of the most special moments of her life was on June 23, 1992 Gwen surrendered her life to the Lord and the Lord led her to the Garden of Prayer Church of God in Christ where she served as president of the Mothers Board. Gwen enjoyed reading, studying the word, sending out cards to saints, family and friends. She really cared about people, checking on the sick and shut in and she loved making people smile. And most of all she loved taking pictures and singing! Gwen leaves to cherish her memories sisters Phyllis Stokes and Barbara Presley, grandson Rayaun Washington, granddaughter Rayana Hawkins, nephew James (Jimmy) Mayo, nieces, Adrina Stokes, Ayana Parker, Uganda Brownrigg, Latoya Nunn Couch and a host of other family and friends.
