Gloria Jean Patterson "Doty" was born August 11th, 1950, in Osceola, Arkansas. She soared into the sunset on July 12th, 2021 to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita (Charles) Tate, and Roszell Collins; her sister Patricia Grimes, and beloved nephew, Lewis Grimes Sr.
At a very early age, Gloria accepted Christ, at Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in Bald- win, Michigan. After moving to Cleveland, in later years, she became an integral part of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. She was a member of the Nancy Shaw Usher Board and the Lay Council, ain addition to other various committees and functions. Gloria loved to help people and volunteered immeasurable hours to different causes throughout her life. She enjoyed being the muscle, so to speak, behind the scene to do more to help other organizations succeed. Rolling her sleeves up to dress dolls and stuff stocks for children was a part of the Ohio Pioneer project. Answering the telephones for the Easter Seals Telethon and countless other projects are just a few highlights.
Gloria graduated from East High School, Class of 68'. Afterwards, she attended Case Western Reserve University and married Mark Patterson, to this union, there were three lovely children. She retired from Ohio Bell after 40 years. Gloria was life long student, taking classes and workshops about carpentry, cooking, writing and computers. Gloria was also a very proud grandmother and made every attempt to attend their functions.
Gloria leaves to hold dear her memory three children, Patricia (Andrea) Patterson, Eryka (Alphonso) Meadows, and Geoffrey (Murya) Patterson, Uncle Samuel (Gay) Tate, Aunt Sheila (Ronald) Carlvin, Nephew Charles (Cynthia) Sanders, Niece Felicia Grimes, Grandnephew Lewis (Kenisha) Grimes Jr.; 9 Grandchildren, Alexander Ed- wards, Marc Edwards, Jazmine (Joseph) Howard, Jailynn McGill, Kamryn Meadows, Evan Meadows, Jordyn Patterson, Kyle Meadows, Alexandria Patterson: 2 Great- Grandchildren, Tamryn and Journee, as well as a myriad of cousins, friends and rela-
