Gerald White, 76, of Walton Hills, Ohio, transitioned on February 7, 2023. Born to Allen, Sr. and Excelene White on July 30, 1946, he attended the D.C. public school system graduating from Spingarn High after which Gerald attended Wilberforce University. As a youth, he loved playing basketball, roller skating, and eventually picked up a tennis racket. He spent his summers in South Carolina, where he developed a love for camping and hiking. This was manifested in his passion for historical reenactment as an adult.
He spent twenty-five years at Ferro Corporation holding technician and supervisory positions. In 1992, as a Ferro employee, he won an award for developing sparkplug sealing glasses. He completed his work tenure in 2007 as a supervisor with metal supplier, I. Schuman. His hobbies included historical education, woodworking, flower gardening, horseback riding, and tennis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Goodson-White. He leaves behind two brothers, Allen, Jr., wife Nellie White and Thais, wife Claudette White of Maryland, and a sister, Sherone of Washington DC, along with cousins. He was also a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephew.
