George Maclin was born July 11, 1923. George was one of 14 children born to the late Allen and Sallie Tucker Maclin. Five brothers and five sisters preceded him in death. George departed this life Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:15 p.m. at the Veterans Administration Hospital. George Maclin grew up and received his education in Mason, Tennessee. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the Church of God in Christ pastured by his uncle; Elder William Tucker in Mason, Tennessee. George was a member of the United States Army, for several years and was released with an honorable discharge in January, 1946. George moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he began his career as an employee of Sepco Industrial for over 30 years where he retired. While working for Sepco, George met and married the love of his life, Cleo and remained devoted and faithful until death did them apart. Before his marriage, George had one biological son and later George and Cleo fostered three children and raised them to adults. George became a member of Charity Baptist Church for many years, and later joined True Love Missionary Baptist which is now Grace and True Love where he served as an active Deacon for many years until his health failed. George leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife Cleo, two sons Reggie (Shirley), Wesley (Valerie), two daughters, Latisha, and Jackie all of Cleveland, Ohio. One brother, Moses (Elizabeth), two sisters, Katharene Campbell and Deborah Carpenter (Elder Samuel Carpenter), seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five sister-in-laws, Thelma, Pearl, Thelma Jean, Bertha, Manolia (Leo), one brother-in-law, Elder Lysanias (Constance), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Public viewing on Monday, August 8th at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 superior Avenue from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. HOME GOING CELEBRATION ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 9th at GRACE and TRUE LOVE BAPTIST CHURCH, 1813 PAGE AVENUE; WAKE 10:00 AM, FUNERAL 10:30 AM, Interment in Cleveland Memorial Gardens.
