George Glen Jones

GERALD G. JONES was born March 6, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Mildred (Spann) Jones and William "Billy" Jones Jr. who both preceded him in death. Gerald, also known as "Jerry", was baptized at an early age. He attended Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from John Hay High School. In 1977 Gerald entered the Marine Corps. where he received an Honorable Discharge, after serving four years. Throughout Gerald's life he was known for his humorous personality, beautiful smile, his love for watching sports, singing his favorite songs and most importantly his special way with people showing them love and kindness. Jerry never met any strangers; he welcomed everyone without judgement, which made him a friend to many. Gerald was preceded in death by his life-long companion of many years Vanessa Jones (2009). He leaves his great legacy to his five daughters, Maisha Dial, Gerrisha Dial, Teasha Dial, Teresina Hopkins, and Tenekka Hopkins; sons, Gerald Jones Jr., Gerard Jones and Gereil Jones; one brother, William (Marion) Jones III; one sister, Angela Mitchell; aunt, Mary Quarles; 10 granddaughters; 3 grandsons and many close relatives and friends. Services on Saturday, October 8th; wake 3 PM, funeral 3:30 PM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Avenue, 44106. Public viewing on Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM. Interment Tuesday in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
