George Edward Garner Ii

March 7, 1991 — February 11, 2022

Courageous Veteran, loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, grandson and friend...

George Edward Garner II, 30, passed away Friday February 11, 2022 in his Lorain home.

George was born March 7, 1991, in Portales, New Mexico to mother December Traylor (Gregory Sr.) and father George Edward Garner I (Cynthia). George was a jokester, witty, and naturally brilliant. He loved his sleep but would wake up any time of night for his mother's famous greens, mac-n-cheese and chitterlings!

He served 4 years in the United States Army from 2009 to 2012 as a front-line Medical Technician and committed eight months down range to Iraq. He also served tours in Germany and Japan and the Middle East. He obtained his Associates Degree in Business Management, where he made the Dean's List several times. He used his skills to become a Correctional Officer at Lorain County Correctional Facility. He also was a dedicated volunteer for the Valor Home as part of the D.A.R.E. Program until his passing, where he spoke to the young kids about staying off the streets, staying out of trouble and not using drugs.

George's surviving family whom are left to cherish his memory, are his parents December Traylor (Gregory Sr.), George Edward Garner I (Cynthia). Beloved brother to his sisters Quiana (beautiful niece Ava), Cierra, Shara and Trinity. Cherished brother to Gregory Jr, Shaun and Javontay. Precious grandmothers Suzanne Taylor, Sanbonita Best, and Sherrie Long, and a host of aunts and uncles, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his Great Grandmother Nancy (Huntdear) Long, Great Grandfather Columbus Long, Grandfather Norman Long, Grandfather Clother Garner, Grandmother Cora Garner, and Uncles Andre and Thommie Long.

George's charismatic personality and ability to make anyone laugh through the hardest of times will be remembered now more than ever. We love you Lil Gee.
