GENERAL LEE RUSS, 77; General Lee Russ was born on July 9, 1935 in Longview, Texas to the late Ola Mae Russ Smith and General Lee Russ. General was the first born of nine children. He attended South High in Longview, Texas. Later he enlisted in the Army in 1951. He relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1961 where he was employed at the Chevrolet Car Dealership and was also a bricklayer. General accepted Christ at an early age. He was the father of two sons, Kelly Michael Johnson and Ronnie Miller, and the grandfather of five grandchildren. He later met and married Mairon (Kay) Russ (who preceded him in death). General enjoyed hunting; he was a loving and kind man. On October 12, 2012 General Lee Russ was called home to be with the Lord. He will truly be missed by all. He leaves behind nine sisters, Bobbie Jean Burney (deceased), Margaret, Earnestine, Carolyn, Ruby, Mary, Helen (all of Cleveland, Ohio), Jacqueline Russ Valentine (Longview, Texas) and Melissa Vance (Dallas, Texas); three brothers Louis Odell Russ (deceased), Myron Russ (Longview, Texas) and Michael Russ (Longview, Texas). Also a dear friend of 41 years "Butter" who was truly a wonderful friend, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. His memories will never be forgotten. Public viewing Friday Oct. 19, from 10 am to 8 pm at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Ave. SERVICES SATURDAY, OCT. 20; WAKE 10:00 AM and FUNERAL 10:30 AM at First Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 10313 Garfield Ave. Interment in Cleveland Memorial Gardens.
