FREDERICK LOPEZ MAHONE, Age 49. Remembering Frederick Lopez Mahone (Fred) born at the McDonalds House of University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, February 4, 1967 at 9:31 a.m. weighing in at 7 ½ pounds and 19 inches tall. Frederick was a handsome bubbling baby; the third son and sixth child born to James and Lillye Mahone. Freddy (as he was lovingly called) grew up in East Cleveland, Ohio on Roxbury Road and attended Superior Elementary School, and Kirk Middle School and graduated from Shaw High School in 1985. Fred took a cooking class at Shaw High School and his first job was cooking at The Sisters' Chicken and Biscuits restaurant on Euclid Avenue, across from Shaw High. Fred was trained up in a Christian home by his parents who kept him actively involved in church, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at a very young age. Fred attended college at the Tri-C Eastern College. He worked several odd jobs as he also worked in his family business (Mahone Enterprises) as a door to door salesman selling Fuller Products Cosmetics. Fred also worked in his oldest brother's (James Robert Mahone, Jr.) business, Classic Jewelry, Inc. from 1991 through 1996 before relocating to Elyria, Ohio where he met and married his beautiful wife, Tangela. He is the father of Kevin, DeAngela and Aaron. The family relocated to Florence, Kentucky where Fred worked as a successful loan officer and later worked with Citigroup as a successful sales representative. In 2013, Fred and Tangela relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where he excelled in the solar industry. Fred was a member of the Solid Rock Church of Mandarin, under the leadership of Bishop Vernon L. Walker. As his brother James Robert Mahone, Jr. reflects on aspects of Freddy's life he quotes, "For those who knew Freddy as a business associate, he appeared as a good-natured guy with a serious outlook on life. He was all of that and so much more. He had a subtle mischievous sense of humor that caught you by surprise. His nature was fun-loving and his lifestyle was exciting sounding like a Robin Leach episode of the Rich and Famous. Freddy enjoyed traveling and cruising. He was an odds-on favorite at the casino, a connoisseur of fine dining and an avid sports fan. He was fun, he loved having fun, and having fun we did! During the time we spent together in Florida, we worked very hard but life was a vacation and every day was a party". Fred was a very lovable husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was laid back and quiet but when he spoke there was lots of wisdom in what he said. Fred departed from this life on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 4:18 a.m. preceded him in death was his father who passed away just six weeks earlier. Fred leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Tangela Mahone, three children Kevin Mahone, DeAngela Mann, and Aaron Mann, his mother, Lillye Mahone, three brothers: James Robert Mahone, Jr., Robert Lewis Mahone (Sharon) Robert Dante' Mahone, and a god-brother, Arthur McCoy, three sisters: Aretha Rena Mahone, Arnita Faye Hollis (Ronald Hollis, Sr.) and Vernita Toray Marn, and a dear god-daughter Azalea Topmiller, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Frederick, Freddy, Fred, you are loved. We love you from the depths of our hearts. We shall never forget you because you added so much to our lives. We know that your pain and agony was unbearable and God saw fit to heal you through death. Your family and loved ones weren't ready to let you go, but God always knows what is best. We will always hold you in our hearts and thoughts since we can't ever hold you in our arms again. Our hearts are heavy and hurting but we know that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. And on that great getting up morning we look forward to joining you in heaven. And in the words of the ole time Christian spiritual "when we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be"..... and when we all see you, daddy, and Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory!
