Frank David Rogers

Frank David Rogers was born April 28, 1964 in Cleveland OH, the youngest of 10 children. He and his siblings were raised by their Mother, Helen J. Rogers, their maternal Grandmother Rachel Jemison (deceased) and their mother's only brother, Frank Jemison (deceased).

Frank grew up in Glenville area, went to Parkwood Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Lincoln West High in 1982. He later attended Ohio University, Athens OH where he majored in Graphic Design, 1990 graduate. He was also a very active member and leader of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Frank David Rogers pledged and was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity incorporated, Phi Chapter at Ohio University on April 20, 1984. Frank immediately established himself as a hard worker, along with his no nonsense demeanor, his efforts were recognized and he served as Phi Chapter President. He assisted with organizing the Annual Ms. Bronze pageant and was a good brother.
Frank was selected as President of the Panhellenic Chapter over all Black Greek organizations.

While at Ohio University, Frank was a popular brother befriending members from other Chapters throughout Ohio. He was a beacon of light to students on the OU campus helping provide guidance to many. Frank represented well our fraternity motto "First of All, Servants of All, We shall Transcend All"

Frank was with Cuyahoga County as a Case Worker for several years before working as a sales representative at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company from 1999-2006. In 2009 he found his true passion of working in the restaurant and bar industry starting as a line cook and eventually kitchen manager for ABC the Tavern in Cleveland OH, which he held until the Covid Pandemic. Community organizations took notice and awarded Frank as the "Best Career Chef" in 2009 for the 21st annual Real Men Cook event which was sponsored by Women's Alliance for Recovery Services, Inc. Frank was currently employed at Kate's Fish located in the Westside Market until his sudden death on September 14, 2021. He was an incredible artist, he loved to shoot pool and was an avid Cleveland sports enthusiast and especially loved playing golf.

His memory will be forever cherished by his 93 year old mother, seven sisters, Annette Hancock, Laconia Carter (Jesse), Beverly Rogers, Electa Roznik (Thomas), Janice Starks (Chester), Carolyn Derricoatte (Lloyd), Beatrice Rogers two brothers, Louis Rogers (Lynell), Archie Rogers, along with 14 nieces & nephews, 20 great nieces & nephews and a host of friends, cousins, Fraternity brothers and their families.
