Mrs. Erma Potts was born to Sandy Wiggins and Blanche Robinson on March 20, 1927, in Monroeville, Alabama. She was the oldest of five children Barbara, Roscoe, Theodore, and Albert James, all decreased.
Erma learned how to cook at a very young age, this enabled her to take care of her sister and brothers. She attended school and was baptized in Monroeville, and then moved to Mobile, Alabama to live with some relatives.
Erma eventually moved to Cleveland, Ohio with two children Sandy Charlies Wiggins, and Wilbert Wiggins. She married Wilmore Larry and four children were born to this union, Linda, Wilmore Jr, James, and Stephen. In Cleveland, Erma was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and eventually became a member of Beth-El Zion A.M.E. Church for over 70 years. She was a member of the choir, and prepared meals for the church functions. Erma developed a small catering business, and prepared the food for all her children's wedding receptions.
Erma was employed at several downtown Cleveland restaurants, and at the Cleveland Garment Factory. She was employed at Standard Oil Company - Food Division. She retired from Chrysler Motor Company.
Erma was an avid bowler for many years, traveling out of town to bowl in several tournaments and winning many trophies. She was member a dance club that performed for organizations around the Cleveland area.
Erma leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Linda Larry Robinson; two sons, Wilmore Jr., and James; one daughter in law, Daphne Larry; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
