Eric Lamont Evans, also known as "Big E", was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 24, 1966, to the late Inola Weems and Billy Evans. His stepfather, Morris Weems, has been a constant father figure in his life since Eric was a young boy. Eric attended the Cleveland Municipal School District and was one of the founding fathers of the local high school fraternity, Nikee Phi Psi, established in 1984. For much of his adult life, Eric worked in the healthcare industry, with his most recent assignment being in the MR/DD field. Eric was super funny and was one of the jokesters of the family. He was always smiling and knew exactly what to say to brighten any gloomy day. One of his favorite pastimes was showing off his musical talents - he was always singing something be it an actual song or one he made up. And, when it came to clothes, Eric was one of the sharpest, flyest, coldest dressing "Big Dudes" around. His swag was definitely unmatched! About 2 months ago Eric's health began to decline. During this time, he accepted and acknowledged Christ as his personal savior. Roughly a week before his passing, he became gravely ill, and on May 5, 2019, God called his angel home. Eric was surrounded by close friends and family, reiterating the fact that he was truly loved. Eric leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Wanda Evans-Smith (Ray) and Shanta Weems; stepfather, Morris Weems; five nephews, Donte, Antonio, Timothy, Davae and Darius; as well as a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
