Eddie James Henderson Jr. was born to the late Eddie James Henderson Sr. and Annie Ruth Williams Ingram on January 28, 1959 in Detroit, MI. He was affectionately known by his family-given nicknames: Bud, Bug, or Ed. He was the oldest child among his siblings, three of whom preceded him in death: Stacey Smith, Terence, and Marvin Henderson.
Eddie was educated in the Detroit public school system, and he graduated from Northern High School. He worked for various companies in Detroit. However, he relocated to Cleveland, OH, and began his civil service career with the City of Cleveland, where he worked for Waste Collections as a sanitation employee. He later transferred to the Division of Water and worked in the Maintenance Department at the Nottingham plant. He was employed with the City of Cleveland for over 25 years until he retired in 2022. He was also a very gifted and talented handyman. His ability to remodel properties (both residential and commercial) was one of the greatest gifts he gave to his community of family and friends. He could fix almost anything, and he had a joyful heart to serve and help others.
Eddie met Sharon Denise Williams in Detroit in 1976, and that was the beginning of their lifelong love for one another. Although they broke up after a couple of years together, they never stopped communicating, even after she relocated to Cleveland, OH. He decided to pursue her again and moved to Cleveland in the late 1980s. They decided to build a life and family together with children (biological and bonus): Tanisha Henry, T'Dania Henderson, Kristen Sinclair, Orlando "Sean" Davis, Antoinette Henderson, Eddie Henderson III, and Regina Henderson. They joined their lives in holy matrimony in May 1999.
Eddie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, and he had affiliations with the Church of God in Christ and the Baptist church denominations. He loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. He was quiet and introverted at times, but he had an extroverted heart to give and serve.
On Monday, October 14, 2024, Eddie's name was called to leave time and come into eternity.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon "Denise"; his children: T'Dania, Antoinette, Regina, Kristen, Orlando "Sean," Eddie III "EJ," and Tanisha; grandchildren: Zoey, Ocean, Zach, Naomi, Tia, Timothy II "TJ," Joshua, A'Janay, and the late Christopher Mccary; siblings: Ernest (Swan), Sabrina, Charisse (Martin), Alma, Rodney (Latonya), Mallory (Christina), and James (Dejuana); Aunt Barbara and Uncle Leon, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
