Eddie Boyd

July 31, 1955 — December 11, 2013

Brother Eddie Boyd was born July 31, 1955 in Crawfordville, Arkansas to John Henry and Agnes Boyd. His father, John Henry Boyd preceded him in death. Eddie lived in Earle AR, until he was in his pre-teens when he left home and ventured out on his own. Once his mind was made up about something it was no changing it. He faced some difficult times growing up, but manage to remain a kind-hearted, gentle and forgiving person. In the early eighties he moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he joined Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church under the divine leadership of Pastor Alvin T. Jones. On October 20, 2011 he joined Cavalry Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John W. Ribbins III and was very active in the church. He was a member of the Tribe of Judah and a very faithful Sunday school member. Brother Boyd could be seen in the service standing up, lifting up and sending up praises to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He gladly walked his offering and could be found at the alter in prayer. He loved his Pastor and knew he was in the right place, under the right leadership and the Word of God was right. Eddie was a devoted member only missing three weeks of service before his untimely departure. Eddie loved to dance and one of his favorite dances growing up was the robot. He loved to dress, wear his jewelry, watch movies, listen to music and most of all he enjoyed riding his bicycle. He always said," I've lived a mighty good life and I have no regrets". Even though he didn't have any children, he was highly favored with the love of children. They just loved his sense of humor. He was a people person and never met a stranger. It was something about Eddie that touched everyone. Although, Eddie and his sibling lived apart from each other, he knew that he was still loved by them all. Even though, their conversations were mostly by phone every word spoken was catered with love. He was a loving and dear son and brother and will forever be deeply missed. Eddie developed a special bond with the late Louise Boyd (Aunt Lue). It was a bond that was built on love. He always found peace and joy at the mentioning of her name. Long before she took ill she asked Candy to promise she would take care of Eddie and with that in mind a very special relationship became even stronger. Eddie was truly blessed and grateful to have someone so dear in his life, she became like a sister to him. She was his guardian angel here on this earth. Brother Eddie Boyd fought the good fight of faith, he was wounded in the battle, but on a cold snowy Wednesday night December 11, 2013 at 10:30 P.M. at the Hospice of Western Reserve the Lord said, "Enough My Child". Eddie surrendered to the call. We didn't get there in time to say good-bye Candy, Victor and I, but we were so glad he was at peace with his Commander and Chief the Lord Jesus Christ. Brother Eddie Boyd leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted mother, Agnes Boyd, of Fresno, California, two sisters, Johnella Boyd of Fresno, California, and Catherine Jackson of West Memphis, Arkansas, two brothers, Elder John Boyd (Vanessa) of Dallas, Texas, and Eugene Boyd ( Vickie) of Forrest City, Arkansas. A sister in Christ and best friend Yvonne Marshall (Candy), loving cousins Victor Oliver of Cleveland, Ohio and Rosetta Prude (Lamonde) of Macedonia, Ohio, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
