Mrs. Dorothy M. Bell was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 10, 1929, the third child of Susie Carodine and James Jones (both proceeded in death). She was a graduate of the Cleveland Public Schools.
She confessed and accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Second Ebenezer, then located at 57th and Outhwaite Avenue, under the leadership of Rev. Frank Brown (now deceased). She was also a member and sung in the Young People's Choir at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, which was located on 83rd and Central, under the leadership of Rev. Bill Sawyer (now deceased). Prior to her passing, she joined Open Door Missionary Baptize Church, under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Hopkins.
Dorothy met and married, Aubrey A. Giles (proceeded in death). They shared the joy of raising their only son, Tyron A. Giles. Later in life, she married, Elroy Bell of whom proceeded her in death.
Dorothy worked for Multi-Craft for a number of years prior to retirement. She enjoyed entertaining and having nice dinner parties and social gatherings. And her favorite outlet was bowling. Friends and family always affectionately called her, "Dot" or "Aunt Dot." "Dot" was known for her famous Carmel Cakes and "Words of Wisdom."
She leaves to mourn, a loving and devoted son, Tyrone A. Giles (Deborah Rice, Dempsene A. Giles); two sweet and loving nieces, Carol Freeman, Elisha M. Moore-Beard; Great Niece, Judy Kidd, host of great nephews and great-greats; Grandchildren, Aubrey Giles, Keaon Giles, Shawn Rice and Charmella Hughes; Best-Friend of 22 years, Grace Ross; long-time, family-friend, Mildred Pryor; and host of cousins and other family and friends. host of great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grand children; host of cousins and family and friends.
