Doris L. Williams

October 12, 1928 — January 5, 2021

Doris Lee Williams (French) was born October 12, 1928 to the Rev. John W. French and Leola Blake Mason both of who have preceded her in death, in Malvern, Arkansas. Doris' older brother, Johnnie Wesley French preceded her in death as well as his two offspring's: Doris Marie French Reaze and Johnnie Jr., Her niece and nephew whom she loved dearly.

Doris was married to the late Wesley Frieson in Cleveland, Ohio and from this union two children were born, the late Wesley Frieson Ill who preceded her in death on July 28, 2017 and her surviving son, Robert E. Frieson.

Doris accepted Christ at a young age in Arkansas. She was a member of Star Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Edward Small. In later years, she took pleasure when her granddaughter, Symone, attended worship with her at Gateway Retirement Community.

Doris' passion in life was doing hair. She owned and worked in several Beauty Salons in the Cleveland area over fifty years using Ms French as her salon name. Mama Doris was also a very good cook and her fried chicken, mustard and turnip greens with hot water cornbread were second to none!

Doris loved and was shown great love by her family especially her two sons. Wesley took great care of his mother's affairs during his lifetime. He and the rest of the family were daily and/ or weekly visitors at Gateway. She loved when her grandson, Kenan would show up unexpectedly at night to sit with her. Also, she truly enjoyed looking at pictures of her great grandchildren playing. During this pandemic, Robert would sit outside by her window and play her favorite collection of Al Green and B.B.King songs.

Doris leaves to mourn her home going; a loving son, Robert (Sabrina); a cherished daughter-in-law Regina (wife of Wesley); Grandmother of five: Erika Abrams (Darryl), Kenan Frieson, Shen Frieson, Symone Frieson and Bobby Frieson. Great-grandmother of five: Kymari Frieson, Laila Abrams, Quincy Abrams, Aiden Frieson and Miles Abrams.
