Dora Jackson

DORA JACKSON, 85; Passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013; She was born October 19, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Savannah Green and Henderson Green (both deceased). Dora received God at a very young age. She belonged to Tristone Baptist Church where she was a very active member. Dora later married Perry Jackson (deceased). Together they raised six children. Dora worked many jobs in her life. She worked for the Cleveland Board of Education for 15 years where she later became the first black woman Laborer. She then retired because of health reasons. Dora was a very kind and loving person. She passed away peacefully at University Hospital with her family members at her side July 7, 2013 at 6:34 pm. Dora was preceded in death by her two sons, Perry Jackson Jr. and Richard Jackson and her daughter, Darlene Jackson. Dora leaves to cherish her memory David Jackson, Charles Jackson, Leon (Mildred) Jackson; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, May Lumkin, Helen (Owen) Jackson, Erma (Harry) Arrington and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved very much. SERVICES BEGIN AT 12:30 PM on MONDAY, JULY 15 at Watson's Funeral Home, 109143 Superior Avenue. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
