Donald Jerry Hilt

DONALD JERRY HILT, 71; Made his transition on Monday, January 27, 2019; He was the youngest of three children. Donald graduated from East High school in 1960, obtained his B.A. degree from Ohio University and his Law Degree from John Marshall Law School from Cleveland State University in 1977. Donald played basketball for the Ohio University Bobcats, and was leading scorer his senior year there, ranking on the all time scoring chart there. He was inducted into the Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame in 1978 earning letters in 1963, 1964, and 1965. Donald participated in the New Jersey Nets basketball camp. He taught for the Cleveland Board of Education for more than thirty years. Donald's love of basketball led him to coach and play for local teams for many years. Donald leave to cherish his memory his two daughters, Jernine Trott and Antoinette Gunn, a grandson and a granddaughter, nieces, a nephew, many cousins, other family and friends. Public viewing is on Thursday , February 6th from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Watson's Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Avenue where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Cleveland Memorial Gardens.
