Deloris Martin, was born on December 22, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the first child born to Ernestine and Donald Woods. Deloris passed through this life while sleeping peacefully at her residence on October 3, 2022.
Deloris attended, and graduated from the Cleveland School District. After high school, she met the love of her life Preston W. Martin at a theater, who she soon married thereafter. From this union there were two children, William P. Martin (who preceded her in death) and Sandra D. Martin.
Deloris was a member of Temple Baptist church and as she tried to be a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32:
"And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Deloris retired from Stouffer's where she worked for many years. Deloris was a dedicated wife, and mother first and foremost. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as granny, to all of her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Deloris kept an immaculate house, she loved to shop, cook, dance, taking the grandchildren to the food buffets, her time going to Las Vegas, and weekends in-town at the casino.
Deloris leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Preston Martin; her daughter, Sandra Henson (Bobby Robert Sr.); her grandchildren, William Preston Martin II (Lisa), Robert Henson II, Erika Rose Martin, and Alan Blake Martin (Kristina); great grandchildren, Emani Martin, Endia Martin, Eddie Martín, Makaylah Martin, William Martin III, Alan Martin II, Kyle Martin, Morgan Simmons, and one great-great grandchild, Legend Horn; as well as cousins, a host of other relatives, and friends.
