Delocha Chatmon-Mayes

DELOCHA CHATMON-MAYES, 62; Delocha Lynn Chatmon Mayes, known by everyone as "Dee Dee", was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio August 19, 1951. She was the third of five children born to the union of John Chatmon Jr. and Dorothy Allen Chatmon. Dee Dee attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Kennedy High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Bethany Christian Church. Later Delocha met and fell in love with James Mayes, together they raised two daughters, Lorna and Markeyla Mayes. James preceded her in death. Dee Dee's joy in life was sewing and helping others, this is the reason she chose home health aide as a career. She was a very laid back person and an excellent parent who made sure her kids had all they ever wanted and needed. Dee Dee passed away June 19, 2014 and now she is with her heavenly father, her parents and her sister, Debra Chatmon. She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Lorna and Markeyla Mayes; grandson, Ryan Mayes, whom she loved very deeply; sisters, Lorna and Geneva Chatmon; brother, Sidney Chatmon; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
