Deloach Walker, BKA "Dee", was born on April 4, 1933, to the late Odessa and Edna Walker, in Ozan, Arkansas. He was the fourth of seven children. Dee peacefully gained his wings on March 14, 2022, at 11:48 pm.
Dee attended Clow High School, in Ozan, Arkansas. While in Arkansas, he worked on the farm. In the summers, he and his brother, Henry Clay, would travel up north to pick tomatoes in Michigan. There was no doubt that he loved his parents and siblings. Dee was a social butterfly-always making people laugh. Once you met him, you would never ever forget him. He had that everlasting effect. There was never a dull moment when he was around.
Dee loved traveling the highways and byways in his life. He also loved to fish-carried that fishing rod in his trunk wherever he went. He also had a major love of gospel music. In fact, he and his older brother, Odessa "Bully", were in a gospel singing group in Ozan, Arkansas. Dee especially loved listening to the blues and dancing. Something that was NOT known to most, something that was very special to his daughter and son, Archer, was that he also played the piano. That man was, definitely, the life of EVERY party.
Dee moved to Cleveland, OH in 1951, where he met and married Maebell O'Banner. From their union, four children were born: Deloach, Jr, Melvin, Archer Henry and Gregory. Later in life, he met Margaret Hogan. From their union, came two children: the apple of his eye and only daughter, Pamela, and, son, Adam.
Dee loved working with his hands. He worked several years at New York Central Railroad, in Collinwood. Later, from 1968 to 1989, he worked for Fisher Body Automobile Company, now known as General Motors, as a Machine Operator. His love for cars grew stronger, and, he always kept a new and clean car, especially his "Stinkin' Lincolns!"
He was the greatest father, granddad, brother and uncle that any family was blessed to have. To his only living sister, Hildreth Walker, THANK YOU for caring for him over the years. Family meant everything to him.
Deloach leaves to cherish his memories, his six children: Deloach, Jr, Melvin (deceased), Archer Henry, Gregory (Jeanette), Pamela, and, Adam; his estranged wife: Helen Guy, of Tennessee; one sister: Hildreth Walker; two sisters-in-law: Naomi and Johnnie Mae; deceased siblings: Vivian, Thurman (Myrtle), Odessa "Bully", Eartha, Henry Clay (Betty), and, James "J.W."; 13 grandchildren: Nate (Sabrina), Amos Jr, Raymond Sr, Tyreco, Dion, Ivory, Mary, Tameika (Byron), Tiffanie (Antonio), Nacole (Mario), Stevie (Trevari), Nicolette, and, Nachelle; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and, a host of nieces, nephews, and, cousins.
Rest in PARADISE, Pops. You will live forever in the hearts of your children. Job well done! Rest well, "Love Bone"
