Deborah Ann Gilmore

October 24, 1949 — May 4, 2020

Deborah Ann Gilmore was born October 24, 1949, in Pensacola, FL to Annie L. Hogan and John Livingston Johnson. She was the third oldest of five children.

Debbie, as everyone called her, attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Glenville High School in 1967. After high school she left Cleveland to pursue a career as a flight attendant but was unsuccessful. Once back in Cleveland, she met Robert “Bob” Gilmore, Debbie and Bob were married on February 18, 1978, at Mosque Willie Muhammad in Cleveland, Ohio. Of this union two children were born, Yusuf Ali Gilmore and AnnMarie Peacock (Tyrone).

Debbie was feisty, lovable, and funny. She loved playing cards and watching western movies. She enjoyed being around her family and friends and regularly held parties and barbecues at her home where all were welcome. She had a big heart and everyone she met she considered family. Debbie loved sports and her son Yusuf attributes her as the reason for his love of the Cleveland Browns. While Debbie enjoyed all those things, her biggest joy was spending time with her daughter AnnMarie. Debbie was a member of the Word Church and was active on the street team with her daughter Annmarie; advocating for the word of GOD.

In the early morning hours on Monday, May 4, 2020, Debbie gained her wings at the age of 70 years old. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and John, her husband Robert “Bob”, and her eldest brother John. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Yusuf; one daughter, AnnMarie (Tyrone); three brothers, Shafeeq (Renee), Johnnie, and Walter; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
