Cora Mae Goins was born in Marvel, Alabama, on April 5, 1933, to James Edward Harris and Annie Harris. Cora had two sisters and three brothers (Edward, Fannie, Edith, Herman, and Willie James)
Cora enlisted in the Women's Army Corps and was a member of Lee Memorial A.M.E. Church, where she served as an usher of the church.
Cora worked at Wickliffe Country Place Nursing home for over 35 years. One of Cora's talents included playing the piano. Cora was a homebody who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Cora left us on January 2, 2022.
Cora was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Harris, her mother, Annie Harris, daughter, Charlotte Jean Goins, husband, Charlie Goins, and her brothers Herman and Edward Harris.
Cora leaves behind her daughter Beverly Collier, her sons Richard Charles Goins and Leonard Goins, Daughter-in-Law Joanne Goins, sisters Edith McCrary and Fannie Lee Tolbert, and brother Willie James Harris. Grandchildren to include Gail Collier, Veronica Harris, LaFrieda Smith, Erika Pitts, Cherise Goins, Cassandra Goins, and Carnell Collier Jr., Brittany Walikah Goins, Carl Alexander Goins, and Christopher Jeremiah Goins. Great-Grandchildren to include Kayla Spriggs, Brian Smith, Devon Smith, Briana Smith, Mason Collier, Kellen Collier, Gabrielle Kaylee Ann Pitts, Gavin Harris, Jayden Joseph Goins, and Amiyah Lynn Pitts. Cora also leaves behind nieces, nephews, friends, and family-in-love.
