Clayton's Journey on Earth

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1

Time for Birth
Clayton Robinson was born November 17th, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio to proud parents, Eliegh Sr. and Eunice Robinson. He was the 6th of their eight children.

Time to Learn
Clayton was educated in the Cleveland Metropolitan School System from K-12. He graduated from John Hay High School in 1976, skipping an entire grade as a result of being an academic phenom, excelling in his studies. At 16 years of age, he attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout his adult life, Clayton went on to complete many accomplishments as he became a licensed Barber, a certified Asphalt Engineer, certified Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) Lead Abatement Specialist and he obtained his Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Time to Work
Clayton was a pillar in the community. As an entrepreneur he founded "Robbie's Barber Shop." Robbie's was more than just a barbershop; it was a community center that served in facilitating conversations of faith, current events, politics and more. The barber shop has positively impacted over 3 generations of both men and women in the community. Clayton also worked for over a decade as a truck driver for the cities of Shaker and Cleveland.

Time of Faith
As a child, Clayton was active in the church. He attended Apostolic Faith Tabernacle and was baptized in Jesus' name. He received the gift of the Holy Ghost at a young age. In 1995, Clayton was called to ministry after what he described as a divine encounter with the Lord during a dream in which he explained, "The Lord told me to take my family, serve Him and He will direct my path." He served as a Minister and ultimately Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Apostolic Faith following the leadership of Eliegh Sr and Eliegh Robinson Jr. Clayton loved the Lord with all his heart, and it became quite evident to all as he became well-known for his street ministry where he spoke on the Grace and Mercy of Jesus Christ at every opportunity, including his workplace, the barbershop and the YMCA gym.

Time of Commitment and Love
Clayton met Deborah Graves, the love of his life, in the spring of 1978. He and Deborah married March 28th, 1986. From their union came Jamal, Jarod, Jamilah, Jummai and Jedaya Robinson. They have been blessed with 2 grandchildren, Ameerah and Dameer Daniels.

Time of Homegoing
Clayton was called home into the presence of the Lord on June 28th, 2024. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Deborah Robinson; his son Jamal Robinson, and his daughters Jamilah (Davat) Robinson, Jummai Robinson and Jedaya Robinson; grandchildren: Ameerah and Dameer Daniels; siblings: Pandora (Willie) Harvey, Calvin (Brenda) Robinson, and Beverly (Clarence) Hunter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was proceeded in death by his son, Jarod Robinson, parents Eliegh, Sr. and Eunice Robinson, as well as 4 siblings: Donald (Rosalind) Ruff, Eliegh (Juanita) Robinson, Jr., Annie Stormer and Orlandus (Shelley) Robinson, Sr. Clayton Robinson was a joy-filled light in this world that will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure to know and love him.
