Clarice Marie (Mockabee) Porter was born on October 3, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Cleo Mockabee, & Vivian (Dudley) Mockabee. She had one sister, the late Glenda (Mockabee) Lane.
Clarice grew up in Dover, Tennessee and graduated from Burke High. She then went on to attend college at Tennessee State, and Wright State in Dayton, Ohio.
Clarice worked as a cook at Wilberforce College for 25 years until she retired due to her health. Clarice was feisty with a big heart, and loved to make people laugh. She loved being in charge of the bingo activities at her building where she lived.
Clarice will be remembered for being strong-hearted in whatever she believed in and will be missed dearly.
Clarice passed on Thursday, December 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo & Vivian Mockabee; and sister, Glenda (Mockabee) Lane.
Clarice leaves behind her son, Gerald Jackson (Maggie); daughter, Pamela Mockabee; nephew, Louis Lane; niece, Teresa Lane Nooks (Kenny); six grandsons, Kevin Richardson, Jr., Gerald Jackson, Gerald Wesley, Caleb Wesley, Jeremy Wesley, and Aaren Wesley; three granddaughters, Quila Douglas (Kirk), Chantele Terrell-Yancy (Aaron), and Mia Jackson; one great-grandson, Kevin Richardson, II; three great granddaughters, Karma Richardson, Kyra Richardson, and Keve’onna Richardson; as well as a host of cousins and friends.
