Clarence ROBERTS, 72, passed away Sat. April 29th; Funeral Services begin 12:30PM on Wednesday, May 3rd at Watson's Funeral Home 10913 Superior Ave. Cle. 44106. Clarence Roberts was born March19, 1945 in Charleston, West Virginia to Anna Bell Roberts and Otis McGhee. He was the youngest of 3 children. Clarence attended the Cleveland Public School System and received his Computer Assisted Drafting Certificate in 2010, and Welding Certification. In his early 30's, Clarence converted to the Muslim religion, changing his name to Salahun-din Abdul Tawwab. Clarence married Patricia Roberts with who he had three children, Clarence Ray Roberts, Wesley Roberts and Clerissa Precious Roberts. Clarence retired from Republic Steel and his favorite hobbies were basket weaving, and studying the Quran. As his health began to fail he could not regularly attend Mosque but his faith never wavered, you could often find him listening to his Imam Plemon El-Amin's "Renewing Life" CD in his room. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory are his two children, David L. Bell (Shadaka) and Vicktoria Campbell; eight grandchildren, (5) from David: David Jr., Danielle, Bre'onna, Daevion and Shaddea, three from Vicktoria, Delvonte, Dontes and Angelo; seven great grandchildren; nieces, Patricia Roberts and Mary Ann Reynold; two nephews, David Lee Roberts and David Lyle Fleetwood ; as well as other relatives and friends. Those who preceded Clarence in death are his wife, Patricia Roberts; both his parents, Anne Bell Roberts and Otis McGhee; three children, Clarence, Wesley and Clerissa; as well as both siblings, David Roberts and Mary Louis Roberts.
