Clarence Miles was born July 24, 1947, to Grover and Arrie Miles in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was the sixth of 12 children. Boys; Tommy Ray, Grover L. Jr, Robert, Secellup (Joe) and Lamar, girls; Marva, Vickey, Shirley, Roslyn, Lamerle and Betty Lavern.
Clarence grew up attending school in Sylacauga AL., where he graduated from Sylacauga High school. One year later he joined the United States Army, where he served 2 years.
In the year 1966 he moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he met and married Alberta. There union included 3 sons and 3 daughters: Orlando, Gerald, Michael, Jada, Terri and Sharmella.
Clarence began his career as a welder and worked at E.I. Dupont, WS Tyler and later Construction with the Iron Workers Union, until his retirement.
Clarence attended Second Lakeview Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus. Although he enjoyed singing, he also took joy in driving the church van and attending bible study regularly. Other activities Clarence enjoyed was fishing, playing golf and spending time with family.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 50 years Alberta Miles; two sisters, Lamerle Mile, and Roslyn Miles; one brother, Joe; two sons, Orlando Clopton, and Michael Lawson; three daughters, Jada Wilson, Terri Lawson and Sharmella (Charles) Harris; two sisters in-law, Vivian McLendon and Edith Ware; grandchildren, Gerald III, Tiffany, Charles III, Christopher H., Christopher L., Courtney and Jarrett; Great grandchildren, RayVieon, Leon, Iyannah, Aiyah, Gerald IV and Camren; as well as Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. The immediate family who proceeded him in death; Grover and Arrie Miles (parents), Gerald Lawson (son), and 9 brothers and sisters.
