Charrisse Yvette Summerall-Fields

May 31, 1972 — September 29, 2023

Through the loving union of Peggy and Sylvester Summerall, they welcomed their bundle of joy, Charrisse Yvette on May 31, 1972, in Cleveland, Ohio. She became affectionately known as everybody's "Reece-Cup" baby. Her parents intuitively knew she was their exceptional child! Charrisse was the youngest of three siblings.

As a child, her parents provided her with a Christian upbringing. Later, through her own merit, she acknowledged Christ as her personal Savior. As a little girl, Charrisse became a member of Beth-El AME Zion Church, where she was baptized under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Amos Abraham Ackerman. She was active in numerous Bethel ministries, including "Buds of Promise," "Silver Gleaners" and the Youth Choir.

During her formative years, Charrisse attended St. Aloysius Catholic School and Vila Angela Academy. She graduated from Euclid High School and received a certificate in the cosmetology vocational program. Charrisse would go on to attend the University of Phoenix where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Charrisse's pride and joy was her one love, her beloved daughter, Isis Cornelia Davis. Charrisse later met and married Charles Fields and together, their union became a blended and blessed family bringing to her Bridget, Brandon, Bradley and four grandchildren. Charrisse always expressed a gratitude for knowing the teachings of God and placed him first in her life. She had a deep love for family. Rooted in her foundation and teachings was to "do the right thing" and most of all "live life to the fullest" with no regrets! When Charrisse's health began to decline, that teaching was befitting and her daughter, Isis, followed the family foundation. Isis took on the role of caregiver and took care of her mother. She would often say that she was proud to have experienced the unwavering love of a daughter for her mother. They made it through it all with God's steadfast strength.

Charrisse had multiple favorite pastimes including, loving people, and having the knack of never meeting a stranger. She enjoyed dancing and was a lover of music. Whenever and forever, bonding with family made her "oh so happy". On special holidays she was known for bringing her signature dish "Mac & Cheese". Although it may be late, it was well worth the wait.

Charrisse's employment included working in the medical field. She became a certified STNA while attending college and shortly after was employed with the Great Lakes Bureau as a call center respondent. Her last employment was with Aflac Insurance Company where she remained until her illness took its toll.

Charrisse will be remembered for her beautiful Reece-Cup smile, her upfront-personality; her forward love matched with a no shame - no malice touch. Charrisse was a true soldier in her battle for life, remaining courageous on the journey. Although she had been sick for the past eight years; she led life with dignity and with no complaints.

On Friday, September 29, 2023, at 7:39am surrounded by her loving family and friends, God reached down to Cleveland Clinic Hospital-Euclid Branch to assure Charrisse that her battle was over. She would now be at peace and free from sickness to live in everlasting eternity.

Charrissee was preceded in death by her clone-look-alike and loving father, Sylvester Summerall; her grandparents; three aunts and one uncle; and a special brother-in-law, "Corn." Charisse will forever be remembered and adored by her loving and praying mother, Peggy Summerall, her caring and devoted daughter, Isis; one sister, Traci Thompson; one brother, Maurice (Leah) Williams of North Carolina; three special aunts, Pearl, Barbara & Betty; a special uncle, Al; a special friend/brother, Tyrone Campbell; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many cousins, close friends, her beloved Beth-El family and her extended care team.

We will forever stand taller and stronger knowing Charrisse Yvette Summerall-Fields is now watching over us!
