CHARLES JAMES GRAYER JR, 58; Passed May 9, 2009; Cherished father, son, brother, relative and friend. SERVICES ON SATURDAY, MAY 16 , WAKE: 9:30 AM, funeral: 10:00 am at WATSON'S FUNERAL HOME , 10913 Superior Ave. Charles James Grayer Jr. was born to Charles James Grayer Sr. and Mary Jane Burton on September 10, 1950 in Starksville, Mississippi. Charles attended John Hay High School. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972. During that time he served in Europe and Vietnam. After attending the Army, Charles came home and joined the National Guards, and retired from there. Charles also became an employee of Veterans Administration Medical Center for twenty nine years. Charles hobbies were fishing, bowling, and family gatherings. Charles loved to barbeque and before his death Charles was planning to purchase a house to reunite with his immediate family members. Charles had accepted Christ and made peace with God. This peace and blessed assurance gave him strength to pass on during his cloudy days. An angel dismissed from heaven on May 9, 2009 to bring Charles home. Upon bidding farewell, Charles was encircled by his loving family with praise and prayer. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving Mother, Mary Jane Grayer; his Sons, Charles James Grayer III and his mother Deborah, Keith Sanders ; four Brothers, George E. Grayer Sr. (preceded him in death), Michael, Melvin and Dontraven; one sister-in-law, Sarah Grayer; three grandchildren, Charles IV, Dorian Grayer and Brandon Sanders; four nieces, Teisha and Tasha Grayer, Deja, Delilah; four Nephews, George Rivers Sr., George E. Grayer Jr. (preceded him in death), Demario Grayer, Andre; four great nieces, Kamaria and Amari Grayer, Tyrie, and Dajanay; two great nephews, George Rivers Jr. and Corde'; two Aunts, Theresa Burton (from Chicago) and Ella Mae Burton, Vernell, Vyrle, Elisha, Kevin, James Dotson (from Gary, Indiana); four very devoted friends, Melverse Jackson, Willie and Debbie Heywood, and Leola Lucas, and a host of cousins and friends.
