Charles B. Fears, Jr.

October 20, 1922 — March 9, 2020

Charles Barnett Fears Jr, also known by many as "Bub", was born December 20, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio. Charles attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Central Sr High School He was the 3rd of nine children born to the late Mary Ann Trimble and Charles B Fears Sr. He was married to the beautiful late Olivia Dupree Fears for over 50 years. Charles and Olivia had 3 children, the late Natalene Fears James, Charles B. Fears III, and David Allen Fears. Sergeant Charles B. Fears Jr. of 295th Company/506th Port Battalion was drafted after High School and served 2 years in the United States Army (1943-1945) and fought for our country in WW II. After leaving the military Charles worked for Republic Steel as a diesel mechanic for over 25 years. His retirement passions and hobbies were working on cars and fishing, spending many mornings and quiet time at the Lakefront on 72nd. Charles had a large assortment of fishing rods & reels, tackle boxes and fishing gear. He also owned a small boat he would take out on occasion. He spent many hours in his attic, building and tinkering with model airplanes trying to build the perfect plane. Charles was known for being a sharp dresser taking pride in how he looked. Charles is survived by his loving sister, Allegra Sanders; brother, Wayman Roger Fears; sons, Charles B. Fears III and David Allen Fears; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
