Charles Cox Jr., better known as "Sonny", was born to Charles and Eva Cox, on November 13, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a happy child that loved animals. Handsome and funny, Charles grew up in a large family with one brother and seven sisters. He didn't have to find friends because he had plenty of people to hang out with.
Sonny had a rough life due to the medical issues that he experienced. Still, he was a gentle, happy soul. If you asked him how he was doing, he always responded 'Im ok" or 'Im fine." Always a smile so wide, his eyes squinted.
Sonny loved to walk around the city and was always on an adventure. Everyone that Charles met was a friend to him. Although he was a grown man, his innocence showed through. Sonny always got up before the sun. He spoke about our society, the Bible, and the family. Charles was intelligent and thoughtful. His condition at times was a limitation on his ability to express himself.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Sr; and one sister, Eva "Bonnie".
Charles transitioned on Saturday April 1, 2023. He is survived by his mother, Eva Cox; seven siblings, Hilda, Lamont, Mavis, Mona, Elizabeth (Curtis), Kelly, and Endy; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
