Carolyn Sheppard was born on December 31st, 1954, in Thomaston, Alabama to Susie Bell King-Sheppard and Eddie Lee Sheppard Sr. She has one sister and four brothers.
Carol, mama Sheppard or just mom as our mother is fondly known as, and her siblings grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated high school and had four children.
Carolyn won an award and a plaque for a poem that she wrote called The Man I Desired. She was a loving hard-working Mother. She worked in childcare over 30 years. She LOVED all exotic big cats and animals in general. She also loves music, writing, art and doing puzzles. Our mom loved card games and she won 1st place playing Bid Wiz and came in 2nd place in a spade tournament. Our mother also loved to dance and everybody knows that her favorite song was the Atomic Dogg, by George Clinton. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her legacy lives inside of all of us and even though she is our mom she always gave advice and treated everyone with respect and made a lot of friends her family.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents and two of her brothers Walter and Eddie Jr.
She has left behind her sister Sharon; brothers Roberson (Jack) and Louis. Her four children Shamekia, Rayshaun, LaRaya and Lawerance Jr. Her nine grandchildren + 1 grandson by marriage, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 daughter-in-law Sumillya. A host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and adopted into the family daughters, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our mommy will be truly missed by all and will be loved for the rest of our lives. Let's celebrate her life and continue to live the best way that we can.
