Bessie Mae Gallego

BESSIE MAE GALLEGO, age 74; was born June 1, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to the parents of Mornia Eatmon and Todd Robertson she had 3 other siblings, Mary Stewart, Elizabeth Spencer and Calvin Goodwyn. Bessie attended Central High School. She joined Temple Baptist Church with her sister in Christ. She was married to her first husband Sydney Smith Sr. and years later married Gottrail Gallego. Bessie was once a registered nurse in the late 1970's, later on becoming a counselor at Harbor Lights. Her special hobbies were bid whiz, studying yoga and being with family. At the age of 74 Bessie departed this life on August 19, 2011. Bessie leaves two sons, Sydney A. Smith III and Gregory Smith; one daughter, Lela Finnett Gallego; 15 grandchildren, Kimberly Norris, Tiffany Gallego, Tiara Hazley, Kevin Hazley Jr., Ebony Gallego, Layla Leonard, Shakeila Tate, Jasmine Smith, Justin Smith, Daryl Norris, Dario Burks, Darius Burks, Anthony Rogers, Jerome Wright and Jamil Wright; Three great grandchildren, Taniya Beard, Shavelle Bamfield, Keyarra Curry; one aunt, Liza Mitchell along with a host of cousins family and friends. SERVICES ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2011; VISITATION 3:00 PM, FUNERAL 3:30 PM AT Watson's FFuneral Home, 10913 Superior Avenue. Interment is Private.
