Belinda Gail Welch Oden was born June 10, 1952, in Talladega, Alabama to the Blessed Union of the late Gordon Welch Sr, and Maggie Lee Swain-Welch.
The entire family was raised in the spirit of God uniting at fellowship as members of First Community Baptist Church.
Belinda Welch-Oden had two sisters, Anna (Ernest) Welch, and Vera (Ben) Churn; two brothers, Gordan Welch Jr, and Andrew Welch.
Belinda was married to the late Henry Oden, she had four children, Timothy Lee Welch, Gertrude Louise Welch, Gola Anna Lynch and Adda Mae Oden (Nooney); 18 grandchildren that she raised, Sandrea, Jerry, LaJerrika, Timmesha, Marvin, Maria, Jesse, Jessica, Davaughn, Timothy, Sa'vaughn, Bobby, Carl, Carlton, Jwan, Jada, Ja-tawn, Jwaneesha, and Javaris. She also had 26 great grandchildren, and very special friends, sister Evelyn Blake, Mrs. Minnie, and a godson, Warren Jermaine Gray, and goddaughters, Heidi Austin, Keisha Collins, and Arkia Lowe Cho-Cho.
Belinda Oden was a faithful member of First Community Baptist Church for over 45 years. She worked in the Cleveland public school district as a lunch aide for many years until she retired. She would take the children in the neighborhood to church, and vacation Bible school.
Belinda was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oden; son, Timothy Lee Welch; mother, Maggie Welch; father, Gordon Welch; niece, Dawn Welch; grandchildren, Davaugh Carter, and Jesse Oden.
