After a brief employment with the U.S. Postal Service, Barbara decided to become ad full time homemaker. During her formative years of her growing family, she became active in many of their school and community activities. This included voluntary work at the Head Start Center being active as an assistant Girl Scout Leader and went on to becoming a Den Mother. The Glenville neighborhood of Kepton Avenue will never forget the campfire held at 10310 for both scout troops. Barbara's favorite pastimes were playing cards and playing Bingo. She also was an avid reader of hundreds and hundreds of books. A pastime she enjoyed especially as she became more confined to her apartment. Even though she couldn't be as active as she wanted she continued to be a caregiver for many of her friend's children and grandchildren.
