Barbara A. Anderson-Hughes

Barbara Ann Anderson-Hughes was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on December 25, 1957, to Emma Goldsmith, & James Anderson. Barbara has four siblings, James Earl Anderson, Charles Ray Anderson, Alice Faye Rice, and Jacqueline Anderson.

Barbara's family moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the tender age of 18 months, where she grew up, and attended school. Barbara was introduced to the Lord at a young age by her mother, Emma Batten, whom was very involved in church. She attended the Church of God & Christ, where she taught Sunday school, and won awards from her participation and work she did for her church.

Barbara was a devoted and loyal wife of James Hughes, and she has five children, Howard L. Anderson, Mimiyon N. Anderson, Dontez P. Pace, Kora Richardson (Deonte), and Lamar D. Pace.

Barbara was always the life of the party, she love to gather with family and friends and have a good time. She always was a beautiful women who wore all of the hottest, and latest fashions! Yes she loved to dress, and loved to cook and feed you, a trait she passed along to her oldest daughter.

Barbara was a master decorator and would lay a house out. She often went to family and friends homes to decorate for them. Barbara organized several Neighborhood block party’s and  street games for the youth in her neighborhood such as Kick Ball, Four Corners, Jacks tournaments, Baseball etc. Barbara Anderson held many jobs in her city, though her favorite was mothering, being home to raise her children while they were young. Amongst her nieces and nephew and even second, and third cousins too.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her late husband, James Hughes; her father, Louis Batten, and James Anderson; her younger brother and sister, Charles Ray Anderson and Jacqueline Anderson as well as her  close friend Larry (last name unknown).

Barbara leaves to mourn, Howard L. Gordon Sr, Tammy Richardson; her children, Mimiyon Anderson, Howard L. Anderson, Dontez Pace, Kora Richardson, and Lamar Pace;  sister, Alice Rice, and brother James E Anderson. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, nieces nephews, cousins, and close friends.
