Annie Pearl Franklin

January 12, 2011 — January 12, 2011

Today we celebrate the life of Annie Pearl Franklin, affectionately known as "Ms. Pearl". Pearl was born March 2, 1935 to the late Ollis Brown and the late Ozie Booker. She was born and raised in Talladega, Alabama where she attended school during her earlier years and later continued her education in Detroit, Michigan where her family had moved. Pearl attended school of Cosmetology and did hair for many years. She married the late Harry A. Franklin and had two children, daughter, Harriet and son, Cornell. Years later the Franklins made Cleveland their home. Pearl was employed at Bay View Hospital for many years until she retired with health problems. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Pearl loved her family and took pride in cooking and caring for them. She enjoyed fishing and going to Amish Country weekly if she was able. She knew many people, never met a stranger and was always friendly helpful and caring. She had a smile you would always remember. Ms. Pearl departed this life on January 12, 2011 with her family at her bedside following periods of illness. She leaves to mourn her loss: daughter, Harriet Franklin; son, Cornell Franklin; special friend Andrew Hall Jr.; two sisters, Ola Lloyd of Cleveland, OH and Adele Brown of New York, NY; four brothers, James Brown, Arthur Brown and Willard Brown of Pittsburg, PA and Calvin Brown of Detroit, MI; granddaughter, Cory Galloway; great grandson, Earl Galloway; great granddaughter, Kimora Galloway; as well as a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
