FUNERAL SERVICE - 11:00 A.M. at Community Baptist Church 1550 Hayden Avenue East Cleveland, Ohio 44112 Alice Lee Strong departed this earth on December 15, 2012 at 6:35 p.m. She was born on December 3, 1936 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Zola Bell Levy and Samuel Craig. Alice was the third of four sisters and was affectionately called "Bay Bay". Two of her sisters, Eria Simpkins and Evelyn Martin preceded her in death. She has one living sister, Lena Craig who was also a tremendous friend. The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio by 1951where Alice graduated from East Technical High School. After graduating she became a wonderful seamstress and also taught that craft. She also worked in sales at Halle Brothers and May Company. As a seamstress teacher Alice met Henry Allen Strong (deceased) who she was married to for fifty years. Through this union she was a devoted mother and friend to three daughters: Renetta Bond, Toi Anderson (son in law Ricky) and Katrina Taylor. Alice was also a devoted grandmother to five: Ricky, Alysia, Ashley, Justin and Octavia. Alice accepted Christ at an early age. She spent her most celebrated time with the Lord at Community Baptist Church where she served as a loving Sunday school teacher. What gave Alice most joy was to be a servant to the Lord, her family and friends. Alice leaves to cherish her memories her sister Lena Craig, her daughters Renetta Bond, Toi Anderson (Ricky son-in law), and Katrina Taylor, grandchildren: Ricky, Alysia, Ashley, Justin and Octavia, sister-in law Alice Watson, nieces and nephews, cousins, her best friend Charlotte Slade and many others. What defined Alice most was her love and sweet spirit for others and she remained that way until the Lord called her home. Even though her body is deceased, her loving memories will always remain with us forever.
