Alice M. Stewart

Alice Mae Stewart was born May 13, 1918 in Plaka, Florida to William and Irene Richards. She also had a sister, the late Catherine Jackson and her one and only husband, the late Asie Stewart. Alice left her hometown and came to Cleveland, Ohio and get her first job at Parklane Hotel and then advanced to work for the Board of Education and then took her retirement in 1978. Alice loved to be with her grandkids and do crossword puzzles in her pastime. Alice accepted Christ into her life and heart and was baptized at an early age. She loved the Lord and had a strong relationship with God, she joined First Born in 1946 and she served under the late Samuel Colbert and Asie Stewart. In 1974 a fire destroyed the church, after much sacrifice God led them to 980 E. 123rd Street, where she then served as the district mother of Church and served Langford Floyd and Grady Walker until passing. Alice was a very wonderful woman and she will be truly missed, she leave not mourn but to cherish her memories, children, Samuel and Nancy Stewart, Catherine and Robert Moss; spiritual daughters, Patrica Hall and Juntia Alverdo; grandchildren, Antione and Tonya Bell, Antionette Hunt, Cortez Mark, Tenisha Stewart and Sandra Wilson; great grandchildren, Ebony, Jackie, Rodney, Eric, India, Raven, Bell; also a host of great-great grandchildren, church family and friends. Alice died July 8, 2012 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio surrounded by loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Richards; husband, Asie Stewart; grandson, Stevie Stewart; nephew, Charles Gaines; 1st cousin, Loretha Right; and sister Catherine Jackson. SERVICES ON MONDAY, JULY 16; WAKE 10:00 AM AND FUNERAL AT 11:00 AM AT NEW GLORIOUS CHURCH, 3525 EAST 93 STREET. INTERMENT IN EVERGREEN MEMORIAL PARK
