Alfred Samuel Ewart

FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2013 WAKE: 9:30 A.M. ~ SERVICE: 10:00 A.M. "THE WORD CHURCH" DR. R. A. VERNON FOUNDER & SENIOR PASTOR 18909 SOUTH MILES ROAD WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OHIO 44128 Alfred S. Ewart was born November 1, 1927 in the British West Indies. He was one of sixteen children born to John and Annie Ewart. Alfred completed High School in Manhattan, New York and after graduation joined the U.S. Army. After basic training he was transferred to Korea earned the title of Corporal from 1946 to 1949. While in the Army Alfred trained as an electrician and excelled in his vocation. Alfred's electrical training made him a jack of all trades, he could fix almost anything from washers, refrigerators, electrical wiring, and plumbing just to name a few. He was employed at Accurate DieCast Company for 30 years and later at ITT Lester where he retired in 2002. In 1947 while on furlough in Cleveland, he met and fell in love with Evelyn Langford and they married on June 18, 1949 and together they had 10 children. He was a great husband and hands on father. Alfred accepted the Lord in 1985 and soon after joined Greater Love Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Eugene Ward Jr. Later he started attending "The Word Church" with his daughters, Sandra & Tammie. He enjoyed worshipping there, but as his health started to decline he was no longer able to attend. Alfred Ewart leaves to mourn his beloved wife Evelyn; five sons, Donald (Annie), Darryl (Marissa), Mark (Brenda), Dennis and Michael; five daughters, Sharon Turner (Christopher), Gail McGraw (Kenneth), Sandra Roberts, Tammie Ewart and Tracie Ewart; a sister, Ms. Loraine Davis of Springfield Garden, N.Y.; a brother, Arthur Ewart of Maryland; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends. Alfred Ewart departed this life on January 17, 2013 at home surrounded by family.
