Agnes Lacy

AGNES LACY, age 82, was born December 20, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the marriage of Lucille and Ernest Reaze. She was the seventh of eight children, Ethel, Warnell, Ennis, Johnnie Mae, Esther, Daniel and Herman, all her siblings preceded her in death. As an adult she attended Beauty School in Ohio and earned her Beautician's License and worked in hair salons throughout Cleveland. In 1951 Agnes married David Lacy and they were blessed with two children, David and Adrienne. While raising their two children, Agnes attended Marymount Hospitals Nursing School in Ohio and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Agnes was then employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Agnes became a divorced single mother and continued raising her two children while working at University Hospitals. Although she worked in numerous departments, she most loved working with the children in The Department of Pediatrics. In Agnes' spare time she enjoyed traveling outside of Ohio. Although she only drove locally, she travelled by plane and bus throughout North America. Agnes most enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and returned many times for long weekends. Although Agnes retired early from University Hospitals in 1988, she continued working at nursing homes. Eventually, she completely retired from the workforce. During retirement, she enjoyed reading and continued traveling. On July 2, 2014, Agnes passed away unexpectedly at home. She is survived by her two loving children, David and Adrienne; daughter-in-law, Kathryn; granddaughter, Kimberly and great granddaughter, Ashley Nicole. Public Viewing WED. JULY, 9th 9AM - 7PM.
