Charles William Smith was born in Barnesville, Georgia to his father Marshall Smith Jr (deceased), and mother, Flossie Mae Smith whom he leaves behind. Charlie was the 3rd oldest of four children: Walter James Smith (deceased) Debroah Shaw Michael J. Smith, and Marshall Donnell Mosley all of Cleveland, Ohio.
Charlie attended Cleveland Public schools. He was an entrepreneur and loved arts and crafts. In his life he traveled and called Florida, Colorado, Michigan, and Ohio his home.
He was a man of principles (Muslim Faith), he believed in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he knew the Bible from genesis to revelations. If you tried to describe him, Charlie was Charlie.
Around December of 2022, his health took a sudden turn. With his companion, Rita Tucker with him, he went from nursing home to University Hospital, and eventually Hospice, where he passed.
Charlie leaves behind two sons, Charles Ellis (fiancé, Anissa Marie Saxton) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Akeem Smith of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Linda Smith, and Zena L. Mosley; four grandchildren, L'Ddaryl Desean Ellis Sr, Sereniti Nichole Smith, Alona Leona Renee Banks, and Harmoni Akeelah Smith; two great grandchildren, L'Ddaryl Desean Ellis Jr, and Damarion Leshawn Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
