Ernestine Weatherspoon

Ernestine Wetherspoon went home peacefully on March 19th, surrounded by family. She was 82 years old. Her life partner, Lemual Darby preceded her in death.

The daughter of the late Alma Lee Morgan, Ernestine grew up in Alabama and came to Cleveland at the age of seven. She graduated from Cleveland Public Schools. After high school, she decided to pursue a career in the field of nursing. This was no surprise because she loved to help people. After many years in this field, she retired in 1996.

Ernestine absolutely loved her family also she loved kids to the extent her community extended far past normal. It was nothing for her to extend love and kindness to those outside her family. If you needed anything, and she had it then, you got it. That was her way, no one would go without - a natural giver!!! Ernestine loved to cook, shop, and would occasionally go to the casino for some fun times.

Left to mourn their loving mother are, Jason Weatherspoon (Dennia), Denise Terrell, and Tracey Weatherspoon; dear sister to, Carmon Johnston, Alma Bethea, Floyd Morgan (Yolanda), and Phyllis Mays; devoted grandmother of Michael Weatherspoon, Kenny Sims, and Emmett Johnson; also a cherished great grandmother of, Livia Weatherspoon, Kali Simms, Zaria Johnson, lan Johnson, Santana Bugg, and Kanan Sims; aunt of Tasha Raphael and her daughter Ava Raphael; cousin of the Whitney family, and host of many friends.
